Draining radiator... using antifreeze?

What a coincidence. Just came in from messing with the A and decided to visit the barn. What was I doing to the car? Oh I just put in a 50/50 mix of antifreeze. In reading some of the posts I am glad I live in SoCal at least to be able to drive the banger year round. Can't say much about the place anymore though.

You have good recommendations. Another idea I used that came from an experienced Model A rebuilder is to add two tablespoons of light motor oil to each cylinder and crank the motor over two to three times to oil the cylinder walls. Most oil will seep out in 3 months but at least a film will protect the rings and piston walls until you have oil flow.
