drain hose for 1936 rear drip tray

Looking to replace the old original drain hose from the rear window drip tray in my '36 five window coupe. More importantly though, when the body was getting new floors put in, the shop inadvertently closed off the original opening that the drain hose emptied into. I can't recall (with my "mature memory" and all) if it was simply a hole in the floorboards in front of rear wheel well or if there was something that the hose slid onto. Thinking I could redrill a hole in that area, and have a hose running through a rubber grommet??? Any suggestions? If anyone has a photo of where and how drain hose exits floorboard, I would be grateful.

Hose dumps out onto the rear of the passenger running board just in front of the rear fender. There is a hole in the space between the outside skin and the kickup of the floor surface. If my car wasn't in paint shop jail I'd shoot you a pic

I'll take a pix of the drain hose in my '36 later today and post it here on the Barn.

Jondee' comment is pretty well spot on, the hose does not go through the floor pan, it goes into a recess well in the quarter panel area.

Not a great picture, but this looks like what’s left of mine.

My '36 3w had a short pipe extending approximately 1-1/2" upwards on the passenger's side and the the pipe fit inside the bore of the hose. Water in the past had seeped around the pipe, onto the floor and created rust holes. When I replaced the sheet metal, I made up my own pipe so that the hose fit inside of the pipe to eliminate any chance of it seeping again. The hose iexits the car flush to the body and drains onto the running board mat.

I'll try & get a pic this weekend and post it.

Good information on the drain hole in the body. I have found that the size of the hose in rubber was not available, so we used a clear plastic hose that was the correct size and painted it with Rustoleum plastic paint, flat black and is worked well.

It's been a very, very long time,(about 40 or so years) but I did a 36 coupe for a customer. I had to do a lot of repairs on the tray. I used a washing machine drain hose, it fit perfectly and it went through a hole at the rear of the running board. It drained right on top of the running board in front of the rear fender. Hose didn't fit on a nipple, just polked through the hole.
