Which is the cheaper route? Is piecing one together any more difficult then buying lets say the webber kit? i dont want anything crazy but would like to switch to downdraft and a header.

If you can do the work your self do it and have something that know one has.

Here are a couple of old school manifolds that turn up from time to time. Third and fourth pictures are a '41 Ford 6 cyl. one barrel. Probably more than enough for a semi-stock motor? It doesn't have to be expensive to be fun. Just something different!

Not sure if you can buy them, I had one made at a machine shop for cheap. Be sure to use at least 3/8" stock. (1/2"would be better) It's really just a case of drilling holes.........

im not necessarily going to make my own intake manifold, although it is a cool idea. I was looking more into going the single downdraft route with a stromberg and possibly a header from reds. i figured that along with a brumfield 5.9 to 1 head would make great power for daily driving.
