Dovetail rubber's ??

Hi guy's


I've read about the dovetail rubber insert's being a bad fit,,,,I "Tried" to install the one's I had.....I gave up !!!The old one left in the door (30 Coupe) were so far gone I can't tell what they looked like ??


I tried to trim some spare one I had,,,forget it !! Do any of the supplier's have a set that actuality fit "CORRECTLY"

I don't know if anyone sells the correct shape. The best way I found to trim is to use a Dremel with a grinding stone. Marco posted pictures of the correct shape, but I'm not sure where to find them.

I heard from a restorer of old cars that if you freeze the rubber, you can trim it like wood with your dremel. I have not tried it.

I'll be pokin' mine in soon. Looks like there's enough left to use as a pattern for trimming, not takin' them out yet 'cause I'd probably lose them. Bill W.

No need to freeze. They will trim nicely with your dremel or a bench grinder. Use a lube like soapy water or silicon. Some say WD 40 but I think it might rot the rubber.
