Door sill plate catching on shoes!

I hate these cheap aluminum sill plates. I keep catching my shoes on them which makes them stick up more. I'd remove them if there weren't two screw holes there.
Do they make better versions of these or am I the only one getting caught on them?

remove the plate and cut a piece of rubber mat to fit over the sill. use some contact cement to hold it down and you can cover the holes at the same time.

There are still are some nice originals out there... Have to search and advertise...Be patient...Big John....

The originals were made of zinc. The zinc repros look a lot nicer than aluminum ones, and they might fit better -- can't say for sure.

I have the same part and the same problem. I was going to try filing the edge back some but haven't got around to it yet. The aluminum part seems nice enough except for this problem.

I had the same problem. Eventually your sub-conscious will take over, lift your feet, and entry/egress will go without the proverbial snag.

I have the zinc repros form synders never caught my foot but maybe I just lift my foot a little higher ?

I cut a 1/16 thick aluminum the same shape as the original. Put the original in the left pocket and reinstall it for show. Tony
