Door lock keys

I tried to get keys made for the pass door handle but the locksmith said that there is corrosion or something, the tumblers are stuck and he can't get a blank to go the hole. Is there a way to fix this or will I need to buy a new handle with keys?

New handle at this point is likely more cost effective than spending more $ with the locksmith.

The cylinders that contain the tumblers are made of pot metal , the pot metal expands as it ages and freezes things up, then it cracks. Time for a new/ 'nother cylinder or handle. If you want to preserve a part made of pot metal but it is cracked, flood the cracks with crazy glue, it might not be usable but at least you can save it for the display shelf.
