Door Latches

Looking to improve my 28 coupe door latches and strikers ,,showing wear on the latch part and striker angle worn ,,,,springs are good ,,is the contact surface area meant to be curved or flat ,,,,constant adjustments so far are a bit hit and miss sometimes constantly popping open to staying shut for extended periods ,,,a bit unnerving,,,I can weld and file ok ,,,

Looks like a case of weld and file (or grind). The surface that does the latching should be a constant radius to where it hinges. Your latch part that mount to the body is worn to the point where it will not work correctly.
