We are in the process of finishing up the restoration of a '36 Ford 5-window Coupe. Hopefully, only one or two more parts orders!

Does anyone know what the correct length is for the door check straps?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Dave

Strap? mine is a flat metal strip, curved, that right now has a nail in the end that fits over the flange coming out of the A coulmn and a chunk of rubber on the end that fits thru the hole in the door.

Same metal strap used from 1932 to 1948 it appears:

To my knowledge, coupes don't have door check straps but they do have a short metal arm with a rubber bumper (B-702828) on it. However, I believe open cars such as roadsters and phaetons do.

All,
Thanks for your help. I will use the metal door checks that I have, as you described above. One less thing to buy!
Thanks again,
Dave

Here's the official check strap as shown in the Hardware and Trim Supply Catalogue
