door alignment on29 trk

driver door sag,finally getting to it today.looks like new cowl posts were not drilled on front edge.will not be able to tilt& shim until I drill holes.looks like i'll need a long bit& have to drill on an angle from underneath. 3/8" bolt, hex or carriage?i'm using a bottle jack on plywood on running board under bottom hindge with sissors jack on underside to raise cowl,see any problems. thanks
 
Its VERY hard to get the beltline embossing to line up. It may in fact be impossible as the trucks were just not that carefully put together.

Frequently shipped as a "cube" to the dealers to apply to either AA or A chassis/cowl, they were mostly just "applied" to the frame without fanfare. Not even usually "rubbed out" to eliminate that cheesecurdle finish.

Not to say that it can't be done (someone is BOUND to reply to this saying mine just fell into place perfect) but most of those I've seen are not.

Including my 29 CC truck.
