Doodlebug started today.

I put my doodlebug on the for sale page last week, so decided to get it out and get it running today. I cleaned the points, checked the gas, (yup, half a tank of 5 year old gas) and installed a almost dead battery. I primed the motor, switched on the ignition, and with one pull, it came to life, after 5 years of sitting. I drove it around the yard, and parked it on the lawn with a for sale sign. Amazing how forgiving these things are.:)

Yours looks near identical to one that a guy down the road from me has for sale. I'll see if I can get a few pics of it next time I'm over there. Looks like it has a stock front end but a later 3/4 ton rear axle.

One of the nearby townships (SE Michigan) has its Heritage Days coming up in 2 weeks, there are usually several old Model A doodlebugs running around there along with a bunch of steam engines and other homebuilts from years ago. It's great to see all that old iron working.

Ron, I imagine you are speaking of this one for sale on D-19 for a few months now.

It is in great shape, but has that homemade C-cab looking deal and bed. Owner appears to be adicted to crack cocaine with an asking price of $2000..... But I could be wrong.......I'd venture to say its a $800-1200 vehicle..... They are kinda neat old toys.... 2manycars, congrats on getting her running! Yours appears to be an AA doodlebug (like the heavy duty AA trucks), whereas this one looks like a regular 'A based bug.

Maybe I should try to start this one. Rod

Thanks, I wish it had the origianal cover. Just has a piece of tin for a cover on the radiator. This whole thing is a real mess, Stuebaker cobbled on parts. If the cowl was not decent and the engine was stuck I may have left it where it was. Nice looking gas tank on the inside also, just wish it was early 29 instead of mid 30 - early 31 style. was nearly a freebee with the 38 pickup I bought, both have seen better days though. Rod
