Dome light wood blocking....

I'm sure one of you fellows out there have run into this. We are working on a '30 Tudor. Getting ready to install the wood block for the dome light. How is this block installed? I know it is in the middle of the car. But is the block in front of the metal bow? or behind the metal bow? is the point toward the front or the back? How is the block actually held in place? if fastened to the metal bow is there a metal plate that screws to the metal bow? Please help! Tom

The 30 tudor probably did not have a dome light, as only the deluxe tudor had this feature, but you can install one. The wood block goes between the wood bows just behind the front seats, so that it can be switched on and off by passengers in the rear, or front. It goes with the point towards the front, so the wires can go out the front, toward the windshield header, and down to the terminal box and ground. There needs to be a hole in the center of the bow forward of the block, and all forward of that to accommodate the wires. The ground wire can go anywhere to a metal ground point on the body. The block is held in with four long wood screws, through the two bows adjacent to the block, two in each bow. The block is mounted flush to the bottom of the bows, so there is a gap above, so it is not visible through the roof material.

I Appreciate the info, Yes the dome light was in the Deluxe But for $9.00 I'm putting it in. Right above the Front Seats is the metal bow. The next 2 bows will be completely behind the Front seats. Is that where it goes? Thanks; Tom
