Does this sound fishy or what?....

On the other side I was looking to Buy a camper. Tons of Scams...I found one too good to be true. I called the guy,met him the next morning and towed the camper home. Story was ..towed camper down from N.H and hit a jersey wall,Wife would not let him tow it home. This was a $5000.00 camper for $750.00 Tital was in N.H
I got a clean Tital yesterday in the mail and the Vin# matched!

Most of the time the camper was in another State or on Base, No Speak English or Deaf.

While this is a scam- the key being the extra money to be mailed back,
I had one from Australia for my 31 chevy and I almost erased it and was in fact legitimate. I sold the car for the full asking price. The key is to proceed with caution and read carefully what is written you....

Yes the check is bogus and the amount you receive gets debited out of your account weeks later when the bank discovers the forged check

Yes your bank may clear the check because your account has the funds to cover it but the check has to clear there clearing (system) for lack of the proper word. That's when it bounces. JMHO

Steve,

Any time I get a response which includes "the item" it is a scam and I never ever respond, the more you respond the more they will contact you, different names, different stories, same scam.

My favorite part is send the remaining funds.

Have some fun with it, buy a toy truck and give the "shipper" that toy and a "check" for "the remaining funds".

Put off the pick up over several weeks.

Two sites to learn all about all sorts of Internet scams. The first one is devoted to messing with these clowns. If you really want some laughs, sign up so you can access the "help, hints & tips" forum and check out the "Turd 4" and "Shorty" threads. These scammers have been on the hook for 5 years and now live in an alternate reality that is entirely created by "scambaiters"who mess with their minds. Funny stuff. You could spend hours reading how many creative ways people screw these scammers over.

Sometimes I wish I knew how to hack computers so I could go after these guys. ONe time I asked a friend's kid if he knew any hackers I would pay to mess with one particularly outrageous hit. Probably better that he didn't.

The scammers are everywhere and working every angle they can think of. In my business I deal with customers all over the world and currently have a "customer" in Nigeria (Red Flag??) who wants to buy about $9000 worth of goods, have me ship it to him and then release the funds from his bank when it arrives ! Somehow I don't think I'll sign up for that one !
