Do 1932-35 pickups have more room inside ?

I have been checking out the early 30's pickups and were wondering if the cabs had anymore room than the late Model A trucks. I had been interested in buying a Model A truck, went to look at a 31 closed cab and was very uncomfortable inside due the small cab and straight back bench seat. Do the next generation have a little more room. Or when do the cabs get larger with more room from the dash/wheel to the seat. Thanks for any input.

i do not know the cubic feet of the early pickup cabs, but they ARE SMALL. I am sort of a small guy so the 35-36 cabs are fine with me. I even have the seat adjusted to the center notch. LOL

Noting your quotation above clears up a lot of things for me. Maybe that explains why I am never confused. LOL

i think ther is more room in a 35,36 pickup then a model a pickup. i am about 5'9"
and i fit good in my 36.

I own a '34 pickup which I drive a fair amount. It has plenty of room for me (6'0" 175#) and one passenger. Trying to squeeze in three gets a little tight. I notice that you sit up a little higher than in the '34 passenger car.

There is a nice '34 pickup for sale on ebay right now, item # 330674257223. The guy has a video of the interior which gives you an idea of the space it has. Scott

Scott, That picture you posted is SO NICE...(I'm partial to Sheridan Blue). I'll bet that Minnesota road requires chains today!

I have two 1934 pickups and one has stock seats (LeBaron Bonney). Seems to be plenty of room. The other truck has very comfy but bulky seats made by Rod Tin (a long-gone firm in the San Diego area). The difference is amazing. I'm 6 foot, 195 and it is snug, especially with the 17-inch steering wheel. I can't imagine what it's like to drive a truck with a 2- to 4-inch chopped top or one that has been channelled...borderline dangerous??? According to statistics from measurements made during WWII the average man was about 5 feet 6 inches or so. Henry's boys designed their vehicles around such "smaller" people. We're all getting too big for the old iron!

2nd geer- I am impressed! How did you know that I used a 1950 Ford color (Sheridan Blue) on my pickup from such a small picture? Scott

No trick at all, Scott. You posted previously that it is the color you used (mixed by the paint store). I went through your previous posts hoping to see more pictures of your truck because I really like the way it looks.

I have plenty of room in my 39. I'm 6'3" 210# It them womens that wanna crowd in wid me that makes things crowded. I throws 'em in the back and close the sliding window

When I was young and cool my truck was just old.Now I,m old my truck is cool. when the young fella takes it for a hoon, he has it filled with hot young babes in short order.Ah such is life.
