Distributor shaft two piece

If you have a two piece shaft how do you take the lower shaft out ?

A hose the same size as the shaft and push it over, then pull it out

all good ideas above except for the turn upside down and shake vigorously ! I like using duck bill pliers and also have taken a large flat blade screwdriver into the slot and wedged a second one into it to work the shaft out. It works well. but probably duck bills are the quickest and easiest.

Love those pliers and have 4 of them. There's times when they all are out of the toolbox.
