Distributor shaft machining specifications

Does anyone have an engineering drawing of the long extension shaft that drives the distributor on a 1931 Model A distributor? It has the offset slots.

The original Model A distributor used two short shafts, not one long shaft. This was because there is a slight angle difference, which the coupling of the shafts accommodated.

Use this with the knowledge it cost you nothing...
Um. Isn't that the "longer" of the original design two shaft version?

He may be asking for the aftermarket variant which is a shaft that starts at the distributor cam, passes through the distributor into the block, and continues down to the gear drive as one piece.

I had one of those found in a "barnyard" engine. I threw it away for the apparent "alignment" issue mentioned.

FWIW - on a couple of aftermarket lower shafts, I’ve found that the upper end of the lower shaft won’t go into the coupling with the lower end of the upper shaft. Not sure whether it’s a problem with the offset groove or a OD issue, but I’ve been able to solve it by turning about 0.010” off the diameter of the upper end of the lower shaft. Next time I run into this I’ll compare the actual with John’s drawing (thanks, John!).
