does one know where to buy cam and weights assy for my 1947 mercury 1 ton ?My distributor cam is worn a little [maybe .005 @ points]. Will this affect my timing? New cam would be the better option The wear is on 1 cam. The ford numbers 12210 [cam] 12187 is assy thanks

In reality that may not actually be a problem. Dwell the time the contacts are closed is measured on a dwell meter as an average. Meaning a typical distributor mat have 26-24-28 etc and still average the correct number of 26.
Actuall cylinder timing is shown on a distributor and can be off as much as 2 degrees per cylinder on a perfect distributor.
The rpm band of a flathead in a 47 1 ton would never feel or have any effect of slightly off cylinder timing.
Polish the cam , adjust the contacts and go on .

By any chance you are not a engineer are ya?? Only a engineer would question such a small measurement .......rbg :>),
