Distributor Build Videos.

BUBBAS IGNITION

Well after 10 hours we got it done yesterday. AVI ( Automotive Video) shot 10 hours of distributor videos covering a total rebuild of early helmet, late helmet, crab and a loadamatic distributor. These will be available at aviondemand.com hopefully later on this year. Will take some time to edit and put together naturally i had a blooper or two during the day. My helper Terry started it out with helmet and crab disassembly. All in all it went really well but took longer than we thought. Stay tuned...:D

Sounds great and I hope they sell like hot cakes. Still going to my dizzies to you, though.

I think you guys sprinkle some type of fairy dust in them and that is not available to us retail customers!

Back to the shop this morning, heres the aftermath of 10 hours building Ford Flathead units. Actually one of every one the flatheads ever used . Early helmet, late helment , the crab two bolt and the Loadamatic. Made it thru the day with very little bloopers etc , however the very last test on the Allen machine the speedcontrol quit working!!!
I have a spare complete machine in the barn and will need to dig it out today.

All in all very excited to get these done , over the years i have done a ton of work for the AVI ( Automotive Video ) guys but all have been on the fuel injection, lab scope and high tech end of the repair service. This was a very big step backwards for these guys but they enjoyed it!!

A couple pics.....

Jim, Let us know when the video's are going to be ready for sale & how to purchase them. Is there going to be a section on, or you planning on doing a video on performance tuning flathead distributors? Thank you. Bill

Yes i plan on another section using aftermarket stuff and i could include the performance issues in that section.
However most dont know how really good these unit were from a stock point of view...

Bill,
We will consider that as another section called aftermarket performance ?

Most dont know but our rebuilds are pretty performance as they come with all new , cleaned up , polished advance parts etc. These units run really well as shipped and are tested on machines at 5000 rpm etc..

I'm pretty certain that will the last time the Lincoln distributor you rebuilt for me will reach that high an RPM. :D
