Hello everyone, new to the site. Just bought a 28 sedan driver. Most of the original parts are still on the car as far as I can tell, and I am going to keep it that way. I really am not sure how the dist. oiler works. I did a search but not sure how to oil the dist. I am thinking it said pull the spring loaded brass nipple and there is a small hole in it to put oil in or put a couple of drops in the hole the nipple is in. I will post some pics when i get back home. Having a lot of fun with this old car. Been tinkering with small airplanes for 20 yrs and just sold my homebuilt plane to buy my A. No time to fly anymore. Years ago I had a friend with a small plane called the Aircamper that came with a Ford A motor in it. You had to look around the radiator to fly it.
Thanx in advance for your answer.

yes if the nipple is intact you just pull it back and you will see the hole if it is not plugged with grime you can put a few drops of oil in it , the fun part of model A's is all the greasing and oiling = we all will recommend you buy a copy of the owners manual answers:) a lot of questons

The Pietenpal (pete n paul) aircamper. There are several old threads here on those planes.

If you later take the distributor out make sure you drill a hole on the cam screw and on the side of the shaft. I recently had a noise in my engine and it was the distributor. The top bushing was shot because of lack of oil.( the oiler can oil the bottom bushing but not the top) the hole on the cam screw and the side of the shaft will take care of oiling the upper bushing.

Have Fun with your A,

beechboy - The vendors sell the parts (distributor cam screw and shaft) already drilled ready to install. That is what I did, and oiling of the top bushing is now positive.
