Dipstick Flange?

What is the best way to keep the flange from leaking? I have pulled the pan and removed the flange....looks like there was a gasket in between?

I was thinking of using small machine bolts and making a new gasket.....maybe with a little sealer on the gaskets? Any better ideas? Thanks...

That is just how I did it last week on an 8ba pan. It looked like it had been leaking so rather than take a chance I drilled out the old rivets, made a new gasket, a thin spread of gasket silicone and screwed it on with machine screws. Luck was with me though because when I removed it I found that the threaded part of the rod was broken off inside the flange. Easier to get it out before the pan was assembled to the block.

Note the threaded rod part I fished out.
