How do I get access to the headlight dimmer switch in my '39 Ford coupe? Is it thru the passenger compartment (under the flooring) or from the outside?
 
Mine is between the 2 pedals.If you have 2 people you may get it from under side.I have taken the floor up and did it that way,
 
Disconnect the battery. Remove the brake and clutch pedal pads, remove your floor covering, ( I'm assumming you have a partial wooden floor ) you'll see two screws that hold the dimmer switch loosen them, not all the way may short out on the frame. Pull out all the screws holding the wooden floor. Lift up the floor so you can get one hand under and remove the two screws completely. Now pull the floor out and you'll have the dimmer switch exposed.
