Different gas tank models

I might need a new gas tank. I have a '29 leatherback with and internal gas tank (covered by separate cowl panel). Some '30-'31 gas tanks are external - cowl IS the gas tank and can be identified by the welt between cowl and tank. Are ALL '29 tanks internal design? Are all '30 - '31 tanks external? What is the model/year break down?. Thanks Bill G

Any '29 stock gas tank will work on your Fordor. (It "loads" from the bottom after removing the filler panel on the firewall.)

brent will a 28 fit also, the quickest way i look at a 28-29 or 30-31 is gas cap if it threads its 28-29, I think i have a 28 brent would know for sure if a 28 would work,

28 would fit, but if an earlier 28 the choke rod mount would be in a different place, which would require a shorter choke rod. I beleive this is all discussed on Pluck's website as far as the changes. Rod
