Difference between EAB and EABB heads

I see in my parts manual there is a reference to using a "B" head gasket.
I wonder if that has something to do with it?

The pictures posted are not clear enough to see differences in the combustion chambers. If the EAB-B is shallower than the 8BA, then it is a typical EAB. If the EAB-B is not shallower than the 8BA, then it is an odd (and rare, but not valuable) variant with a larger combustion chamber.

I see no head gasket difference needed with the pictured cylinder heads.
The "A" and "B" head gasket instructions are for Model A and Model B engines using stock or high compression heads.

They will be going to the machine shop soon to get cleaned up and magna-fluxed. Where can I find the measurements of pocket depth for the different heads?

The EAB-B heads have an asymmetrical shape chamber that should improve breathing, probably what Ford was intending.

To me it looks like they used the EAB pattern, then modified something and added the -B at a later date. Possibly at the foundry

For Ford to add that B suffix, something was changed enough so as to make it incompatible with the first design.
