Difference between an AR wheel and 21 inch wheel

What is the difference, if any, between an AR wheel and a 21 inch wheel.

The AR wheel had a hub flange that was 1-3/16 inch.

The later 28-29 wheels had a hub flange that was 1-3/8 inch.

The early AR wheels hub will not ride on the later brake drum correctly, vice versa the later wheels hub will not ride on the AR brake drum correctly.

Any idea how good the reproduction AR drums are for fit?

They are both 21 inch but different hubs like mentioned.

28coupe. I bought a set of the AR drums about 1 1/2 year ago for my 28 pickup The fit was so bad I would not install them. I ended up doing a tremendous amout of grinding and machine work in the center part of the hub to get the inside of the drum to fit correctly. No an easy chore, but it is done and they are now installed. kp

Is it something that can be done by a machineshop? Where did you get the drums?
