Difference between a 32 Ford & Model A front Spring

Hi,
Looking for some advice on how to determine the difference between a FRONT 32 spring from a model a. I thought they were wider, but that is wrong. Is it length, number of leaves or end shackle diameter?

Really confused and want to find a nice 32-34 front spring for my AV-8'project.

Except for a few super-early passenger cars, all '32 passenger and commercial front springs had 12 leaves, were 1 3/4" wide (the same width as a Model A front spring), and had 7/8" diameter spring eyes. Like Model A front springs, '32, '33, and early '34 front (and rear) springs had three-sided tapers at the ends of the spring leaves. Late '34 spring leaf end were square and from that point on, springs provided for service replacements for '32-'34 passenger and commercial vehicles (the same front spring for all '32-'34 applications) came with square leaf ends. Given your stated purpose, it would seem the the leaf end shape would not be a consideration in your search.

From what i can remember i think you will find them having same length and width, but i beleive the model A has the smaller eyes for the shackles?

Is it true that the 32 springs were changed (mid production) to a thicker gauged leaf to compensate for the heavier V8?

No, but very early, likely before Job #1, the number of leaves was increased from ten to twelve.

Other than the main leaf are the model a and '32 packs the same? I have a good '32 main leaf but the rest of the springs have seen better days. Could I use a model a spring pack?
