difference between 1936 front drums and 1937-39 front drums

I see mercman posted some pics of 36-37 brake drums, one of the pics appears to be a 36 drum mounted on a 37-39 hub (short snout). This is what I would like to do as my 36 drums are like new and then go to juice brakes. Other than the grooves on the outside are the drums themselves dimensionally the same? I found someone who says he has a set of 2 piece 37 hubs but the drums are junk. Before I travel 3 hours I'd like a little insight. Thanks Keith

I think the big difference between '36 drums and '37-39 is the '36 spindles.
When I converted my '36 to Hydraulic brakes in 1952 i had to change the spindles to '40/41's, which allowed me to use '38-39 and/or '40/41 drums.
The brakes on my '36 have been '47'48 backing plates w/ '38/39 drums, wide five wheels since 1962.
