appears dif oil gets on speedo gear on drive shaft cable brings to dash then runs down valley under dash to floor where your foot is on gas peddel just starting to drive 31 deluxe delivery going to try new oil mybe have to light oil by previous owner any one have this problem thanks
 
Also if you look at page 568 of the service bulletins it shows that a spiral groove was added to the shaft of the speedometer drive gear to reduce the chance of oil getting to the cable ---if the housing or shaft is worn this feature won't work, -----both this and the cable work together to keep oil out of the speedometer
