I was only joking about no drill mudflaps. I personally think the As are the perfect platform for proud owners to Express some creativity and Make it their own. Makes me smile that they made it a driver and not a trailer queen.
Thanks. One of the reasons i chose this engine was that it is exactly the same length as the stock banger and is simple like the banger so it looks right at home in there. I am also using the mercedes 4spd which posed some challenges with the shifter since i want everything to look stock (except the stance and wheels) so I had to get the shifter in the middle of the trans with a side shift ******. I was able to get close. It's 1/2" further back and 1/2" to the left of the stock sifter position but that as close as i could get it for now. Once it's all done i will look it over and make "Z" the shifter handle below the boot to bring it to it's proper location. The E brake wasn't too bad though. The mercedes runs a hydraulic clutch so that is nice/simple one I got the line adapted for metric on the slave and imperial on the master.Very nice install! Looks like it was made for the A.
At what point does the frame need to be boxed when swapping out the original “A” motor with these higher performance motors?
