HIS AND HER DIARY FOR THE SAME DAY:

Her Diary:

Tonight, I thought my husband was acting weird. We had made plans to
meet at a nice restaurant for dinner. I was shopping with my friends
all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit
late, but he made no comment on it. Conversation wasn't flowing, so I
suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk. He agreed, but
he didn't say much. I asked him what was wrong; He said, 'Nothing.' I
asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said he wasn't
upset, that it had nothing to do with me, and not to worry about it.
On the way home, I told him that I loved him. He smiled slightly, and
kept driving. I can't explain his behavior. I don't know why he didn't
say, 'I love you, too.' When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him
completely, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore.. He just
sat there quietly, and watched TV. He continued to seem distant and
absent. Finally, with silence all around us, I decided to go to bed.
About 15 minutes later, he came to bed. But I still felt that he was
distracted, and his thoughts were somewhere else. He fell asleep - I
cried. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are
with someone else. My life is a disaster.

His Diary:

Model A wouldn't start, can't figure out why.

Dear John,
I hope you can help me. The other day, I set off for work, leaving my husband in the house watching TV. My car stalled and then it broke down about a mile down the road, and I had to walk back to get my husband's help. When I got home, I could'nt believe my eyes. He was in our bedroom with the neighbor's daughter!
I am 32, my husband is 34 and the neighbor's daughter is 19. we have been married for 10 years. When I confronted him, he broke down and admitted they have been having an affair for the past six months. He won't go on counseling, and I'm afraid I am a wreck and need advice urgently. Can you please help?

Sincerely,

Sheila.

Dear Sheila,

A car stalling after being driven a short distance can be caused by a variety of faults with the engine.
Start by checking that there is no debris in the fuel line. If it is clear check the vacuum pipes and hoses on the intake manifold and also check all grounding wires.

If none of those approaches solves the problem, it could be that the fuel pump itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure for the injectors.

I hope this helps.
John

You know this sort of thing has happened to me and its been more than just once. It may have been Model A related, work related or heck even the lawn tractor, it don't matter though as I am always accused of having an affair.

Now if you get a good look at me:rolleyes:(only for the squeamish) this woman I'm accused of having an affair with would have to be the God awful ugliest thing you ever saw:eek:

I don't look in mirrors

This is a real question by me
I have been courting a lady for the last month or so and I make every effort to be in a good mood and smile and tell her how much I love her when ever I see her. I am old school, I open and close the car door for her, I pay for the dates, bring her flowers, I fix things around her house for her, I work on her model A. She says she loves me but it scares her that someone can be so kind to her. We are taking it slow and taking our time to get to know each other. I am head over heals in love with her, she has all the qualities I have been looking for in a women, church going, doesn't drink, smoke, or do drugs and doesn't cuss, is kind and has a smile that would light up a room. Any ideas how I can get her to stop feeling uncomfortable when I pay for our dates or scared because I like being kind to her. Thanks

not Model A related, but important......

"Any ideas how I can get her to stop feeling uncomfortable when I pay for our dates or scared because I like being kind to her. Thanks "

sounds like you're doing everything right. she has likely had bad experiences in the past that make her suspect this exemplary persona you display is not the real "long-term you". be patient. if it is meant to be, it will be. if paying for dinner occasionally makes her happy, let her; but remind her it is not required......

wish you all the best, true love is an elusive thing but worth seeking.

Hi Fellas...the following is a quote from the introduction to my wifes book "Passports to Adventure". " If Bruce had told me when he proposed that he would be taking me around the world in a 50 plus year old car, I certainly would have had second thoughts about accepting his marriage proposal".
I guess the old saying ...Those that "A" together stay to gether.... It worked for us for over 50 years!!!

I saw a guy riding his bike with "If you can read this- my winch fell off" on the back of his shirt. I wonder if he could've heard mine bust out in laughter.

Subconsiously, People are most comfortable operating in the environment they are used to or think is normal to them. If someone is raised in a chaotic environment, they will likely gravitate toward chaotic environments because that is what is "normal." They will occasionally step Into other environments because it is novel or a curiosity but will most likely revert back to the functional disfunction.

These people will also, unknowingly, sabotage environments that are actually healthy or better for them because being treated nice is foreign or wrong in their mind. They think that something must be wrong with the other person acting so nice because "no one acts that way" and actually push you away.

I'm afraid that you are in for a lot of struggle if you think your increasing acts of chivalry will suddenly become accepted. Her issues are larger beneath the surface, and until she learns that it is ok to love herself and pamper herself, no amount of pampering by another person will feel comfortable to her.

Also remember, the way she is acting is her story. She is a character in her own movie called "Her Life." There have been plot twists, disappointments, outside influences, deep rooted suggestion and conditioning, etc. You are just a player who has recently entered the scene. So, dont feel like it is you who is wrong. You are also a character in your own life as well and you have to be true to yourself.

Since relationships also involve two people, it may not only be her reaction that is unusual. You mentioned that you are old school and you have been courting for about a month, but you also say that you tell her you LOVE her constantly. Using the love word so quickly is not very old school and may have caused some discomfort on her part. You may have moved in a little fast and hot too quickly. Try being less eager. She is trying to understand what the real you will be like once the honeymoon phase of the romance is over. Right now she might be feeling like she is getting that fake, "Too good to be true" sales pitch from a guy.

"Good morning my love! Can I get you anything? Breakfast in bed? Paint your house?"

"Uh, we just started going out three weeks ago."

Pull back on the I love yous and take it a little slower. I'm thinking you tend to wear your heart on your sleeve a little to much.

If you can, try looking at a book together called "The Four Agreements". It has some great messages in there about gaining back some of that childhood innocense before we became jaded or bruised by our surroundings. It may help to build comfort with one's self and surrounding people.

I guess I should add that I have known her for over a year but only dating for a little over a month.

Forget the "Love" angle and just concentrate on being her friend. Do things with her, like a movie once in a while, and give her a long leash... Let her be her own woman, she has a life, too, and when she finally realizes what a swell guy you are for letting her be herself, she will latch on to you and keep you forever.

I found that when I was in that phase of dating my, now wife, she was just as excited about the relationship and wanted to be doing part of the "pleasing". She actually wanted to open the door for me, and pay if she had money. So by being completely attentive to her, she may have nothing to do for you, in your everyday interaction.

That was just my situation, but I agree that you need to back off some. Just tone it down. I grew up with the "I love you's" and my wife didn't. It took a long time until she felt comfortable with them, and even now, it still isn't natural for her (after 15yrs). Her family didn't hug, and mine did. I think she's just going to need space, and be prepared to offer that space for a LONG time.

I'm with 29RPU, and Jason. She wants to be a partner and you are not giving her a chance to do her part. Talk to her about it before you change your ways. There are those married longer than I, but I'm married 31 years (to the same woman).
