I'm installing seat belts in an early 31 Fordor. I want to use Dexeion angle iron for backup. All I can find is 14 gauge at Home Depot. Is 14 gauge heavy enough? Thanks.

#4...It didn't seem like it to me either. I've called shops that sell steel and it doesn't appear to be a common item.

ok yea I'm with the rest of the guys that's not even close to good enough to use.all those slots if you needed it to save your life it would simply rip apart. use some good 2x 1/4 inch stuff and drill your own holes

Don't bolt your belts to the frame, bolt to the body.
If you're ever in a really bad wreck...you'll know why real fast.

I used a 3/16"x 4" wide steel plate attached under the full width o body floor and bolted the hardware through that, seemed good and strong, it would take a lot of force to pull that through the sheet metal floor.

Julianos has anchor plates for seatbelt that seem like they are a good design. I have used them in my V8s and wish that I had used them on my roadster.
