There are plastic containers available for a reasonable price at places at Home Depot and Lowe's. I even got one real cheap at Dollar General. If price was no object, I'd fill it with "Evaporust" and wait a couple of days. Unfortunately, that would cost about $18 a gallon. "Rust-911" is a little better, at about $4 per gallon. This is why I am experimenting with citric acid. At one pound per 5 gallons, it comes out to be about $2 per gallon. With a carefully selected (or modified) container, you might be able to get by with 5 or 10 gallons of solution, so the cost would be quite reasonable.what would you use on a large item like a transmission case? Is there anything you can paint on or does it just dry up.
There are a couple of threads on the "H.A.M.B." about this, and most people who have used it say it performs like the more expensive products. We'll see. I love the way the two commercial products work for stuff like this, but they are just too expensive for large jobs. I'll let you know what happens with my wire wheel.
