Deluxe Phaeton color question(s)

For the 1931 Deluxe 2 Door Phaetons there are 4 color combinations listed in the Paint and Finish Guide.
To me it looks as if this phaeton may be the Stone Brown / Stone Deep Grey / Tacoma Cream combination. I'm drawn to the color of this car and would like folks input if they agree this is the color or if they would they suggest otherwise.
That said my wife is leaning more to the Washington Blue combination.
I'd like to order the top kit relatively soon and the paint we decide to go with could influence the top color.

Although my 180-A is washington blue; I personally prefer the brewster green and black color combination. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the information, especially the marital advice.
Would anyone have the paint codes they would be able to share for the Stone Brown car colors and... the Washington Blue car colors just in case :)

Here's a nice example of the color combo you like. https://www.volocars.com/auto-sales/vehicles/13984/1931-ford-model-a-deluxe-2dr-phaeton

These photos come from the Volo Car Museum in Illinois, where I bought a 1922 Model T Coupe in 1996. The pictured DeLuxe Phaeton is laden with too many chrome goodies for my taste. Totally unnecessary for such a flashy body style to begin with.

By the way, I painted my late 1931 DeLuxe Phaeton these same colors. 'Love it!

I think the Stone Brown color is the best color to highlight the car. My deluxe roadster is the same color. There really is no original color that is bad. The Deluxe Phaeton is my favorite body style!

I like washing blue, but my wife liked stone brown/gray. I just finished a seven year restoration on my 180-A and love the stonebrown/gray/tacoma combination.

'Wanna make both of you happy with the color? Paint the driver's side in the Stone Brown combo and the passenger's side Washington Blue. As the main driver, you will mostly see the Stone Brown, while your wife as the main passenger will mostly see the right side of the car = blue. Paint the top panels of the hood the same way: left side Brown, right side blue. Your marriage will be just that much more secure, each knowing he/she/it got his/her/its own way! Darned that personal pronoun application thing!

"Wow, Marshal, you should be a politician."

And if elected, I will not serve. Shades of American political history at work there... Ha, ha, ha!

You are too smart for me, Jim. Yes, Union General William Tecumseh Sherman, the scourge of the Civil War South. This was a post-War statement made when offered the candidacy of the President of the United States. Rats! I thought I could sneak that one past you. A 1960's national politician "appropriated" Sherman's quote and used it as if it were his own creation. Very few people made the historical connection. So much for the American people knowing their own history... :(

I'm glad folks like the Stone Brown colors.
Would any of you that have painted their cars in these colors be willing to share the paint/paint codes with me or point me in the right direction to get them?

All I have is the little paint chips in the Paint and Finish Guide.
I'm not so sure that trying to get a paint matched to those are the way to go.

Thank you for the link Marshall. The pictures will be a good resource.

Giving this post a bump because I am still seeking information on the Stone Brown / Stone Deep Grey / Tacoma Cream colors. If there is anyone that has used these colors and would be willing to share their knowledge with me I would certainly appreciate it.

I have Deep Stone Grey and Tacoma Cream formulae in PPG's Concept series of paint, in my opinion the best paint made. I know I also had the Stone Brown formula at one time, but I can't seem to find it. Let me know if you want the two that I still have.

Marshall, yes I absolutely would appreciate it if you could do that for me!

Sending you a pm with my contact information.

Just one more color formula to find yet. If anyone has the information for the Stone Brown please please let me know.

Brown/gray/cream would be my choice :D

Try contacting Ken Ehrenhofer, he'll probably know the codes off the top of his head.

Dave -
I just sent the two printed formulae I have to your direct email. Let me know if you receive them. Sometimes my emails with attachments don't reach the intended recipients.
