Deluxe front end on 40 pickup ?

Fair enough, Tubman, but if a fellow has to ask how hard is it to do it, I'm only guessing, but he probably hasn't the wherewithall to do a decent job. Pointing out that it isn't universally accepted as a great idea can save the less experienced person a world of pain.

If the OP has the skills and vision to do it then go for it. But, as has often been said, just because it can be done doesn't mean it should.

The following does not specifically apply to this proposed swap.

This is a forum. It's a place for discussion. If I propose a terrible idea asking how I should do something, I hope someone would tell me straight. I wouldn't want to try and go forward with my terrible idea only to find it was a waste of time, money and effort. And when I then report that my results turned out awful, I wouldn't want everybody to then say "Oh yeah we all thought is was crazy but didn't want to hurt your feelings".

I've never seen a sheetmetal swap on a ford pickup that looks better than the stock appearance.

That's my personal opinion.

Mart.

An awful lot of wisdom in that reply, Mart. Good on ya! DD

I've never been a custom fan, but even if you are, beauty is always in the eye of the beholder. This doesn't sound like a simple mod.

Thanks guys; the next time I consider doing something I've never done before, I'll make sure I come here first and check and see if it's OK.

It looks pretty good!

(Sorry I'm being mischievous) That one is well done.

Better than stock? Some will like it, some won't. There is no right or wrong answer.

Mart.

Ok Mr Mart, I asked because I had not done this particular swap before, not because I do not have the skill. Maybe u should keep your replies to the subject !!!!

I'm a big fan of a 38 standard front end. Which has been done with about as much work; on a 38/9 truck. Very different and cool.

That 40 D/L front end looks too "busy" and "pointy" with that near vertical prow for my liking, although it is very well done. I like the 39 std better on the truck...now when it comes to cars for me it's the opposite.
