Dash light jewels

I recemtly bought a jeweled cover for my daash l;ight in my 29 4 dr. I cant figuer out how to turn the light on with this thing installed. The normal thing was to push the cap in and twist till the light came on. What am I missing?? I have seen them on other cars so there must be a way. Thanks for any advise

Perhaps a picture of you unitwill help us figure it out. On mine I put the jeweled cover on my existing lamp.
