Found out about this today, my dash is apart.

I do have a nice socket bulb and rubber but where is the connection on the Light Switch for power?

Needs to be on when parking and headlights are on?

Which pole on the Switch/ Anybody got a clue?

I can't see it but that is a function of the of the tail lamp wire. Park lamps in front of car were out when headlights were on.

It is tied in with the dash lamps (HDL SW).

Let me see if I can find a schematic.

EDIT -

All dash lamps should be connected to the 'I' (interior lamps) pin-out on the HDL SW. Is it marked on the switch? They will illuminate when the HDL SW is moved to either PARK or HEADLAMPS position.

Did you find it disconnected?

This headlight switch diagram applies to '55(ish) Birds but I'll bet the dash panel light wiring is 99% the same as what you have.

The glass fuse on the end of the headlight switch is for power to the dome/map/courtesy lights.

On the HL switch the male pin, closest to the inside of the dash, is the rheostat for he dash lights.
The bulb, fixture was missing and I did have an xtra one which is now installed on the Triangle plate behind the dash used for the HL and Key switch.
On the male pin I installed a dual male pin, one for dash lights, other for dash lite Key and HL switch.
