Dash color.

Is there a specific color for the window trim, and entire dash on the 46-48 Fords? It looks silver but I wanted to know if I had to replicate it.

It's a blue-gray metallic. Should be able to match it if you have a sample such as the inside of the glove box door. A good automotive paint store can probably match it and put it in a spray can for you.

The Early V8 Club reference book is sort of helpful. The color codes they provide didn't do anything for my paint house. I just went with a slightly metalic silver grey and am satisfied with the result. Still assembling the car or I would show off with pics.

PPG was able to match up with the codes in the EFV8 club book for my '48. I think I still have a can in my garage with the current code on it. I'll try to look later today!

My unused paint is still at the body shop. I still have some painting for them to do.

Here is the info from the EFV8 Book: Gray Metallic 35861KM

805J Black 35.8 Grams
4530S Flop control agent 62.7 grams
810J Fine aluminum 81.5 grams
866J Red Violet 88.9 grams
802J LS White 102.1 grams
1004S Blue Pearl 111.5 grams
150K B/C Balancer 320.1 grams
175K Binder 456.9 grams

Thank you all for the help. The previous owner painted everything black. Even though my 47 is going to be a flathead powered hot rod, I do want to keep some of the originality. This will be helpful.

I can give you a picture of the label on the can that I am using on Wednesday!

This is the can of paint and it shows the exact code as printed in the EFV8 book, as I previously posted. I wasn't sure if it was current or not!
