Daddyo updates

I cleaned my metal with buffing wheels, it left the dark spots like you have, I used the 3m brand rust conversion spray it basicly turns that black into primer.

The dark areas could be where corrosion (iron oxide) was converted to iron phosphate if you used a phosphoric acid bases rust remover. The iron phosphate can be pretty hard but will come off with combinations of sanding (flapper wheels or plain paper), use of body files, or combinations of both. If the metal is thin you may not want to remove it all. Iron phosphate is pretty much inert and should not reoxidize easily if covered with a good primer & paint. It can start to corrode eventually if the vehicle is left out in the elements very much.
