I doubt if you see much increase in your cruising speed with an HC head, as that is really dependent on your gearing, etc., but you will definitely see better hill climbing and acceleration. For faster, easy cruising nothing beats a Mitchell overdrive!

Save that cracked head for a cutaway display.
If you cut it in half, then you have enough for two cutaway engine displays.

I would never use good or rebuildable parts for cutaway displays, but junk parts are still good for that purpose.
