Hi I'm changing car pulleys on a 8ba to a truck system with wide belts the problem i having is the crank spacer for car is on the crank and tightly sealed i don't want to remove ever thing and pull this, Has anyone ever cut the shaft on a truck pulley where the eccentric worm gear is and let it bump up against the car spacer thanks AL

yes you can shorten the pulley but maybe try to find the correct pulley 1st? they did make those "2 piece" style as well

I did this once...as I remember the 1949 pulleys (those are the ones with the "spacer" integral) have a step exactly where the cut needs to be, so doing it right was easy.
I would still prefer to pull the spacer and have everything one piece.

You probably need one of these, I think they came off a truck.
