cutout & ground polarity

Will the cutout function with the battery connected as a negative ground?

When I convert a cutout to a diode I purchase positive ground, 30 amp, diodes and wire the battery positive ground.

I believe with a regular cutout it should function OK ?

You could modify a diode type by reversing the leads as opposing to by another.

Thanks, I was under the impression that the original would work either way. But, I was not sure about the diode. Ron
