customline garnish mould screws

Hello,
Just FYI, you asked about a later Ford in the flathead section of the website.
Anyway, I don't own a 56, but I do have a 53. If they are similar you need to be careful since some of the screws are longer than others. Phillips head screws are used with diameter to work in the hole in the sheet metal. The screw head style on my car matches the "oval" type in this link: https://www.fastenermart.com/understanding-screw-heads-and-drive-styles.html

Generally, the garnish molding screws are # 8's or # 10's. As far as length they go all over the place from about 1 inch to 2 - 2 1/2 inches depending on location.

Most garnish moldings use an oval head screw. Check the indent of the screw hole for size (should fit down into the indent)

Usually head size on trim screws are the same on all screws of the same diameter ( # 8, etc). However, there are trim screws that have a smaller head size than standard, such as a # 10 screw with a # 8 head.

Not familar with the sizes of the trim screws on 56 Ford.

Just go to your regular hardware store and look into the "Auto Trim Screws" boxes in the "Fasteners" aisle. That's what I do and I have never been stumped yet.
