Cup shaped insulating washers

I use a hollow gasket punch set to cut my own. The screw will shape the cup in the gasket material. I don't know of any good source for ready made insulating washers, but these homemade ones work fine.

Do you use any particular material?

Sometimes I can find some thin flexible dense insulating material at the electronic surplus store. If not, then I use some dense thin gasket material from Fleet-Farm or auto parts stores. Remember the brush needs an insulator in each side of the motor frame. That is 4 pieces total for one horn.

It's been a while since I've been into a horn, but if I recall correctly I think a plastic antifreeze or oil bottle would provide a lifetime supply of material for these insulators.
