Cross steering info

I am contemplating cross steering for a 34. I am looking for a suggestion on attachment of the drag link to the right spindle when still having mechanical brakes.

Assuming original spindles, there isn't a second hole to attach the drag link on the right spindle. (as you know). Someone posted a thread recently where they showed a tie rod end that had a hole through it to accept a drag link. I believe they said it was a jeep part.
If not on here it might have been the hamb.
Try googling "jeep tie rod end with hole"
You will need to make a new tie rod and drag link.
Mart.

Use a double eye tie rod end like this; but that's the easy part.

Many kits available to mount the steering box; but consider boxing the left front rail so it doesn't torque when steering.

Converting your existing column isn't hard just takes a little thinking to do right.

FYI: don't choose a cheap Chinese steering box. Borgeson or an OEM GM box is the way to go.

Repair and replace your existing parts and it will work well. Making all the changes required and suggested and you still may not be happy with it.

Don, did you look into replacing the stock box with one from an F-100?

No, I had not thought of that TJ. Completely vanished from my memory! I will look into that. I put a Borgeson Saginaw 525 in my 36 pickup which already had cross steering so it was more doable. What an improvement that was. The F-1 box wouldn't require near us much underneath work either!!

NHRP a.k.a. Neil in California makes a direct replacement '33-34 (and a '32 as well) box with F-1(100?) style internals and the better ratio. They are around $1200 or so if I remember correctly. Its on my list.

AN easier might be to use a 1937 steering box. That would be much better than a 35-36 box. At least "car-wise"
