Crankshaft Pully

Does anyone know if the I.D. of a 59ab V8 ford crankshaft pully is suppose to have a step in it. The pully I have has a ( i would say about a .005 to .010 step in the I.D.) step in the front of the pully I.D. about 3/4 in length. Is this correct.

Does the ID get bigger after this step or smaller?

Yes,the 59A engine pulley has a step in the bore as you describe.
