Crank pulley differentiation

I have two crank pulleys. (trying to put a 8ba in a 40 truck) dont know which year or which application they are for. I do know both are wide belt 5/8". "a" seems standard dual pulley but "b" with the pulley far from the block doesnt seem to line up with anything. Any ideas?

IMO, "A" looks like a pulley off an 8ba/8rt truck/Merc, somewhere in the years '48-'53. "B" looks like a typical 59ab pulley, '45-'48. I'm certainly no expert on flathead pulleys. Someone else here may be able to pin them down more accurately.

ok i just did that swap with a 41 ford,i used the 8BA pulley your (A), and mounted the 40-41 6 blade fan to it,i took it to a machine shop and he made a mounting plate and welded it on the lower pulley, works great runs cool.p/s my lower pulley came from a 50 pu truck

Yeah oldskool I commented on your post. I wasnt sure though if that was correct or not. Now I understand what you did completely. Does your pulley have any spacing between it and the timing cover? How does your belts line up? Are they perfect or off an 1/8th or 1/16th of an inch?
