Cowl Mirror Visibility

I know that the passenger side cowl mirror on a '40 is useless. What about the hinge mirrors of previous years? Can I put a hinge mirror from say a '39 on my '40 and actually see out of it? I'm thinking of this on a '40 convertible.

Hinge mirrors on my 40 coupe work well.

The right hinge pin mirror actually is useful.
If you show your car, you will receive a deduction for this type of mirror on a '40.

We have the hinge mirror on my Dad's 3 window and I don't think he likes it. I have the kind that clamps to the side of the door and it's fine. Don't have one on the right side as it's worthless. I'll probably put the hinge mirror on the cabriolet for looks more so than functionality.

I've got the hinge mirror on my 39. Both sides. Put a stick on convex mirror on the passenger side to see along side me. Wouldn't drive the car without it.
