Coupe Body Bolt Spacing

I am installing the body on the frame of my late '30 coupe (45-B) and have run into a couple of perplexing issues.

Issue #1
Referring to Les Andrews' Mechanics Handbook Vol I, page 1-29 the Holes 2&3 in the body appear to be approx 2" shorter to Hole 1 than the same holes in the frame. With the Holes 1 in the body and frame aligned, Hole 3 of the body appears to be aligned with Hole 2 in the frame. See attached photos. All of the other body block holes appear to be aligned, although I have not yet taken precise measurements. What am I missing??? And No, there is not another hole in the frame near the indicated Hole 1.

Issue #2
My frame does not have the 90 degree angled support piece where Holes 6 are supposed to be located. Is this required for my coupe? If so what mounts on these supports.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Only the last bolt get used for the frame bracket. Theese frame brackets were moved back for the slant window bodies. I'm sure other's will chime in on this subject, also you could do a search on this too.

Drive Shaft Dave - The though occurred to me that this might be the case. But when I looked at the old body block and pad that I removed, it appeared that there was contact around both holes. in the pad. Guess it could have been the flat washer on the forward hole that caused this indention.

I'm not really up on the frame changes that were made in late 1930 and 1931, but recall that changes were made affecting both of the issues you are having. Are you using the frame the body came off of? Perhaps you have a post-change frame and an earlier body? If nothing else I'll bump this up and hopefully someone more knowledgeable will advise.

Hope this helps it's from the restoration guidelines;

Is the body blocks counter bored to recess one of the nuts? That was the way on my Tudor I think, it's been a lng time.

Thanks for the replies.
-Yes this is the same body that came off the frame. You would think I would be more observant wouldn't you?
-thanks for the body bolt chart. Looks like I got the right bolts.
-the body block for holes 2/3 also has a counterbored hole for a retention back at the end. the 2/3 holes are not counterbored. It looks the same as the original block.

So, I still have the same 2 issues - does the bolt for Hole 3 in the body fit in Hole 2 of the frame? And, am I suppose to have the support flange with Hole 6? I have done a lot of research on this forum with no luck. Any ideas where I might find this info?

on the later frames #2 bolt misses the bracket and bolt down through the splash apron, the #6 bolt is NOT used on the coupes. there should be holes in the frame for the #6 bracket but NO bracket

With the introduction of the Vicky in 1930 a new frame was needed. All slant window bodies need the new hole configuration.

The 2/3 bracket was moved rearward so the 2 hole now lines up with the 3 hole for a straight window body.

If you look just ahead of the rear running board bracket you will find 3 rivet holes, 2 at the top one below. If you find the #6 bracket there (go to my website you will find pictures in there) you will want to take it off nicely and sell it to a slant window guy. You will make money and the slant guy will be very happy.
