Counter balanced crank

My uncle put together an engine for his 25 T pickup. The crankshaft had a forged crankshaft that had counter balance weights on it. The crank was one piece forged type. It must have been an aftermarket speed equipment type. Any ideas? Dennis

More then likely, a Sure Brand crank. they had a large crack rate in them also. I have had those also, but I would still prefer the Dun Weights, because on the noticeable difference in weight, and where the weight hangs. Herm.

Herm, when you say "a Sure Brand", ...are you thinking of the Sure-Mike (Sure-Mic ) CW Crankshaft or something else?

Sorry, didnt mean to get this thread off track... this photo is of my bench last year when I got the pile of racing parts...
Didn't have a single photo of the crank and its all packed away right now...

Does anyone know if my crank is a Sure-mic? and broderchamp, does this look like your crank?

Because of the local connection, I would love a cracked Sure Mike crank to hang on my garage wall.

I'd also like to know more of the history.

Here is period adv on the Sure Mike, 1925.

And the rusty one in the pics of T cranks and modified cranks for the T block is a Sure Mike.

My speedster project motor used a Sure Mike in it, don't know now the status if its still in one piece as I sold the engine with the chassis.
