Cost of Re-Upholstering

I just bought my first 1930 Model A! It was restored some years ago, and was in storage for quite awhile. The seats, side panels and roof liner have all been attacked by moths. Any suggestions and/or estimates on reupholstering?

Thanks

Get the price of a kit from lebaronbonney.com, 800 221-5408. Trucks are cheap, 4 door sedans a little more. Different grades/types of material are available. Plan to install it yourself or get a price from a local shop.

I have heard that the going rate for an install is taking the cost of the kit and saying the labor will be the same. $1000 kit makes $1000 in labor.
Would you happen to be close to Michigan?

I have a 29 Tudor that I have almost restored (Frame Off) . The only thing left is the interior. Lebaron Bonney interior was gonna cost over $3000.00 installed. Cartouche from Macs was gonna be over $2000.00 installed. Have two teenagers with one that just started college so money is getting tight. I have decided to do my whole interior in genuine cow hide leather. Had the seats done in cowhide and they turned out great and were sewn as the original seats. Today I just found another hide in a local salvage outfit and it is absolutely beautiful. Got enough to do all the panels and I paid $60.00. I am gonna get the pre cut panels from Macs for $210. I know it's not "original" material but just can't afford original at the moment. I don't plan to have it judged or anything, I just plan to drive it and have fun. So my total interior job done in that smell good genuine cowhide is gonna run in well under $1000.00. Maybe in the future, I will go with the high dollar stuff, but right now, this is what makes the most sense to me. I am a big leather fan anyway.

that looks very tastefully done. Good job

A friend cut the patinaed leather from a giant couch at a curb junk pickup and used it to do his pickup seats!
Money can't buy that great look! Bill W.

Don't forget about Lee Chatterton in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He has quality interior sets and is generally less than either of them. He also does installs.

excellent choice and you have the best-smelling Tudor around......

Thanks, I put the hide in the car, rolled the windows up, went back a few hours later and it smells soooo good. Thought about sleeping in it tonight, but the wife would probably have me sent to the mental hospital. We have one right down the road so I have to be careful.

Junior,
DON"T sleep in the car! A friend, who is ooold like me, had a tiff with his chief cook & bottle washer and slept in the back seat of his tudor!:p In the morning she almost had to call 911 to extricate him from the car! He grunted & groaned for 3 days.:mad::mad: Yep! you guessed it, she just LAUGHED, & LAUGHED, & LAUGHED FOR 3 DAYS & made him fix his own toast!
After getting Pat in a care home, I had a bad reaction to Flexarill, a muscle relaxant, hallucinating, wild stories, in & out of reality for 3 weeks, little people, etc. Like a lush on a 3 week drunk. "Funny Farm" rehab was a great place & had lots of fun after I got straight. They thought I was an oooold man spaced out on drugs!
I'm O.K. now, not DANGEROUS! Gregg, Cindy, & the Dog agree that I'm back to my usual goofy self!
I will write a book about it, titled, "TO HELL & BACK BY THE SKIN OF MY FENDER!
I have a small family, but my Model A friends were the greatest support to me during this "escapade!" Bill W. (Some still look at me "funny," but what the heck, it gets me free coffee at our "COFFEE HOLE!"):D
