Hi all

Looking to find out what is used to fasten the outside rearview mirror to the driver's side windshield post. I believe it is 5/16 24 fasteners, but are they hex head bolts or some kind of screw?

These were hex head bolts AND they are dome head. They were bolts specific to this location.

I know this because my CCPU is apart and I'VE LOST MY BOLTS. (dern!)

This is described in one of the Restoring the Model A Ford Books published by MARC I believe.

You would have to remind me of this...

Joe K is correct, the bolts are fine threaded hex bolts with domed heads. I am posting a picture of a bracket and domed head bolt below. I don't know where these are available and if they are used other places on model A's. Luckily I have a pair for my 29 CCPU.

Just looked at Snyder's again.

NOT available. Or at least I can't find them.

Seems that "new" mirrors (which are close but not exact copies) come with bolt mounting hardware (unspecified.)

The dome head bolt that hold the mirror in the arm IS available.
