Correct Directional Switch

I need to have info and verification about the directional switch I need to buy
for my 35 sedan. I've been told by the individual I've hired to make a harness
for my car I should buy a SignalStat 900 switch for my system. My first question is, is there a difference between what switch is used for a truck and a
car? An individual I talked with at one company indicated their SignalStat 900
switch was for a truck. As I know nothing about directional switches I need
help deciding what to buy. Also, what flasher do I need to buy to go along with
this switch? I plan on using my original tail lamps for the rear and a pair of new
fog lamps on the front.

There are three and seven wire switches . it will determin how he makes up your harness. If you dont want to be adding more lights and just use what Henry put on your car then you need a seven wire switch. Your wiring guy should know this. And no there is no differenc between truck and car that Im aware of.

Maybe wanna ask him to add a few more wires just for good measure. Might want to add 4-way flashers, 3rd brake light, etc. Might come in handy to warn folks behind you that an everyday highway emergency seems to be laying ahead.

I think the Signal Stat switch does have the 4 way flashers. No need to add additional wires.

The turn signal switches I have got from Chris Olson in Bend Oregon have the 4 way flasher as part of the switch. I forget what brand they were as I have had them installed for over 10 years. They were part of a complete wiring kit. I am sure he would sell just the turn signal switch, but you may need to change some light sockets to use 2 filament bulbs.

Not sure why you asked the same question that you did two weels ago, but anyhow this electronic switch will work with a toggle or one of the old vintage types that mount on the steering column with a little bit of work. It has an adjustible timer for shutting it off and 4-way flasher switching.

Those are nice switches Kurt. I run one of these old signalstat's in my 34, you see I've shortened it up a bit so it stays in the wheel diameter.
